One of my favorite blogs is the Naked Pastor. No, he isn’t physically naked. The title of his blog refers to being emotionally honest with ourselves, God and other people. Its a refreshing oasis in a sea of Christian commercialism and fakery.
This cartoon of his perfectly captures the environment of Teen Mania:

so i’m clear then according to your philosophy: You would have no problem if drugs were legal?
you have no problem if people were to carry guns on planes rather than TSA run security checks?
just gathering thoughts.

what makes you think the Government is any different from this drawing?

From your comments, it sounds like you are operating under the belief that the government and the kingdom of God should operate in the same way. However, I do not believe that. The kingdom of this world operates on a power structure that is radically different than the one that Jesus taught. The gov. has the power to compel people to do or not do certain things, and to punish them accordingly. This power is coercive and exterior. The Kingdom of God grows on the interior of our hearts as the Holy Spirit reveals Christ to us. These are two totally different things and when you mix them, you get problems.

I disagree entirely. If our own Creator (which He is the one who endows us with rights not our Government) does not force us against our own free will then who is the Government to do so?

Anon – I’m not sure if you are the original anon that asked the question or not, but even if you look at it that way, it doesn’t let TM off the hook.

I look at a lot of things in this respect. I honestly do not care if this puts TM on or off the hook. Where does the Government get this power? Also who are they to have so much power? I saw this cartoon and just wanted to make people think about our Government and the world we live in today.

When debating about government, I’m out of my league. Its not my intent or interest so I can’t comment on how this cartoon may or may not relate to the government. But I sure do think it relates to Teen Mania. 🙂

Understood RA. However what I will say is that people choose to be under the HA and accepted the terms and conditions. Now out of that once terms and conditions are laid out on the table then HA should honor their terms and conditions and not further add to them after interns have arrived. This way both parties understand how things will be laid out without negative surprises. This puts both parties at terms of responsibility. Rather than just a one way street. I think there are cases of this on both sides.
