I was hoping to post last night after binging all 3 episodes and provide some slight raw reaction. I was also hoping to do some kind of live blog post that I would constantly update while I was watching but I didn’t really plan for that so I didn’t have a post set up and ready to go. I also couldn’t keep up with the live chat and the documentary so there was no way.
Suffice to say, I feel seen. I feel validated. I feel like the documentary did a great job calling out the crazy. When the MSNBC documentary aired, no one from the cult saw what was wrong. I’m sure there are plenty of people who still don’t, Ron, Dave, and Heath to name a few, I’m sure. But I feel like this new stage really showed it. I woke up crying this morning because I feel so exposed, that everyone can now see the shame and mental toll I and so many others have.
My plan is to rewatch everything, maybe over the weekend if I can muster it that soon, and make a post for each episode. It will probably follow a similar format to my rewatching of Mind Over Mania, which I also plan to finish soon.
In fact, a lot of people have been reaching out in comments and emails. Everyone has been super supportive and encouraging, which I appreciate. I plan on making several posts regarding all of the new activity buzzing.
