The Bible According to Teen Mania #1

This series is inspired by Alan Knox’s Scripture…As We Live It series.

John 8: 3-11

The teachers of the law and the Pharisees Honor Academy staff brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group Honor Court and said to Jesus, Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Honor Academy handbook, Moses Dave commanded us to stone BV such women. Now what do you say?

They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger the Honor Academy code of honor. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, If any one of you is without sin honorable enough to be elected to the Honor Court, let him be the first to throw a stone at her kick her out.

Jesus straightened up and asked her, Woman, where are they? Has no-one everyone condemned you? No-one Everyone, sir, she said. Then neither do I so do I condemn you, Jesus declared. Go now leave your life of sin and feel rejected by your friends and leaders because you just couldn’t cut it.

Obviously he wasn’t cut out for the work of God because he looked up porn again. Don’t worry though, the honor court helped him with his problem. They sent him home drenched in his own tears, hovering under their rebuke and suicidal. He was obviously getting in the way of the real work that had to be done and couldn’t be there dragging everyone down with his human issues and desires. We walk on the week just to keep the party moving

  3. Anonymous | December 8, 2009 at 6:06 am | ReplyWow! Where is Grace i.e. the divine reflection upon the heart, reflected in the life? If righteousness could be gained through legalism, Christ died for nothing!

Anonymous | March 16, 2010 at 9:06 pm | ReplyI warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. -Revelation 22:18-19. *the actual words* not a twisted distorted lie
  5. dismissed staff member | March 19, 2010 at 5:17 am | ReplyI think when God says add, he doesn’t mean when we are using it to show how Teen Mania treats people. I am pretty sure He meant “if you change it and preach it to unbelievers as you changed it”.

Nunquam Honorablus | March 22, 2010 at 10:10 pm | Replylol, actually if you look at the original context, it’s referring to the book of Revelation, not the whole Bible itself.HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean I disagree. However-however, I think dismissed staff member nailed it. RA’s not actually attempting to rewrite or inject into the Word of God. 😛

It is really the leadership of the HA and TM who are twisting the Scriptures by the implication of their actions and teaching.
  8. Anonymous | March 25, 2010 at 2:50 pm | ReplyI think the Anonymous person who posted the Revelation quote may be an intern… I am just saying…cuz It’s funny how easily predictable their comments are…
  9. Anonymous | April 18, 2010 at 4:42 am | ReplyI was a former intern almost 10 years ago. I was elected to sit on the Honor Council. We very rarely sent anyone home. We did show mercy in many instances. Many people were put on probation, given books to read, one on one counseling, prayer, etc. While I was on the council, we only dismissed 2 interns that didn’t show any remorse
  10. Anonymous | April 18, 2010 at 4:46 am | ReplyWhen I say remorse, we took into account how quickly the individual confessed and the severity of the action. Sometimes if the council said stay but the staff said go. We gave our advise and it was handed to Mercer Cauley (he was in charge of the council at that time)

Not to be too dramatic or anything. 😉 Who can emerge from that kind of message not scared? Most of us tremble. Suddenly we start to second-guess our foundation & sustainance by grace, and worry if we’re “serious” enough about God. Insert finger- Gag here. This isn’t Nazi Germany. Christ came for the weak, the screwups. The outcast. Those were the people he chose, for prodigies and friends. Wow. Only grace creates brave followers from wimps. Let’s rest in Him.
  12. Anonymous | September 14, 2010 at 8:13 am | ReplyRA, do not confuse lack of grace with discipline. We have God’s grace because justice was served on Jesus, not because when we are “weak” and commit an offense, God looks the other way and says “I’ll let this one go by this time.” That’s not grace, that is injustice, a just God stays true his word, and so should the Honor Academy, they should reinforce the guidelines they have set. No one, even the weak, are tempted beyond what they can handle. (response to comment on April 17 at 11:46 pm). I am not advocating for dismissing interns, I am pointing out because it’s essential to understand what Grace really is.
