Burn Out

I saw this comic over at the ASBO Jesus blog and immediately thought of Teen Mania. Does this reflect your intern experience or maybe your experience with Christianity in general? Why?

Wow, no comments yet? This comic really resonated with me. The beginning of the internship is full of hype and energy…but you can’t live under the law for too long until you burn out (sometimes in spectacular fashion).

OK, I’ll comment:

Looks like somebody acquired the fire!

“Build a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.” –Terry Pratchett

Bonus points if anybody can turn “Stop, drop, and roll” into a good metaphor for the spiritual life. (The first two work fine, but the third may be more for Pentecostals…)

It’s brilliant. I don’t have anything to add. The comic pretty much says it all.

Yep I have seen this quite a bit but there should be a crowd around asking why the flames from the burning christian are orange and not red or blue because of course they are not burning hot enough.

I think the guy on the ground just looks like a mamby pamby American.

Maybe he just forgot to have this quiet time?
