Celebrating Freedom

This weekend we celebrate Independence Day. But an even more significant independence day occurred two thousand years ago. An excerpt from the Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse:

The Christian life begins with freedom from dead works, from religious systems, and from all human attempts

Another great quote I just came across this morning:

Consciousness of our performance before God will only reveal how unrighteous and sinful we are. This makes Jesus’ sacrifice for us worthless. It is His performance that made us righteous. Our performance in any way cannot perfect His sacrifice… Be conscious of your righteousness in Christ…

I didn’t know where to post this but i guess here is a good start…. I want to encourage others to join me in a special project. Its great to recover but I feel it is important to catch others before the damage is done I have found a site that teen mania recruits tend to visit frequently and I am messaging my experience and this website to them one “future intern” at a time I would encourage anyone out there who wants to do the same to contact me….
please email me at lipfordam@bellsouth.net. Lets try to help them even before they get hurt. Please even if you help only one change there mind isn’t it worth it

Thank you Jesus! Thank you Jesus! Thank you Jesus! This is beautiful and basic. What a relief. Can we plaster this on our walls, especially those of the church? Maybe the “Cross” means a cross”x” over anything WE could have or can do…forever. 🙂 Happiness! No more effort!

to “please God.” Its time for many of us to shake off the religious systems and expectations we’ve created and return to that joyful freedom in Christ.

Both Old and New Testaments warn of false prophets and spiritual systems that add the performance of religious behaviors to the performance of Jesus on the cross as a means to find God’s approval. All of us, as Christians, are told to be on spiritual guard.

Are the spiritual relationships you have bringing the rest Jesus promised, or do you find just more toil and weariness?
