God Likes You!

Did you know that?

God actually likes you.

Not just loves you.

He likes you. He enjoys you and thinks you are fun to be with.

I used to think of God as kind of a distant family member – they love you because they have to, but they don’t exactly call you up on Saturday to see if you want to hang out.

I used to think God just put up with me. He was mildly exasperated at my perpetual failings. Of course, he would help me out when I needed it, but that was just because he was a good guy, not because He really cared about me.

Imagine my suprise to find out that He actually likes me. He enjoys helping me. He looks forward to talking to me. I’m not a bother to Him, I’m a joy.

Hard to believe, isn’t it?

And guess what? God likes you, too!!

Pretty cool, huh?

Wow, thanks RA! 🙂

On another note, I know that this isn’t really the place to post this but would you all be praying for my youngest sister. She was hit by a car this morning and is currently in hospital. I think she’s okay but I’m still waiting to hear back from my parents. Thanks guys 🙂

Thanks RA for the reminder and encouragement (many people do not understand that). My pastor frequently says “God is not mad at you–He’s crazy about you and loves you!”

To 007, we, as a family, are on our knees in prayer for your sister!

@ Ex-Intern -Oh my goodness seriously?! Yes. Our God is very Faithful. hehehehe. And He LIKES your sister. 🙂
“Jesus PLEASE protect ’07s little sister!!!! The YOUNGEST! Oh God, break in with Your POWER and Your LIFE! That all involved with the situation (saved or not) would know that You are the God who loves to bless His children! Oh mighty God who reigns over all the Earth. Move NOW in that families life!”
Bless your family!

And not to take away from this amazing post. Thanks R.A. it is SO TRUE. He LIKES us. A lot! He’s like a dad who see’s His 4 year old running across the room really fast about to run into a chair and hurt themselves. When He reaches down to pick ‘um up, He doesn’t just sit them back down and let them keep going, he throws um into the air, hugs um, kisses um, tickles um and THEN sits um back down. And the child probably stops running around but sits next to Dad for the next half hour.

Quite so– John 15:15.

And for 007, John 14:1.

(I’m in a referential mood today.)

Wait!! so I don’t have to have a daily 4 hour long quiet time or run 100 miles in perfect physical condition or be at TM for 10+ years….for God to like me???

You can’t be seriously suggesting that He likes me just as I am, are you???

One of the funny things about G-d is He often is not as we expect Him to be. To 1security1, no, you don’t even have to go to TM to have G-d be madly in love with you. Honestly, I don’t think it helps- I believe that G-d loves us now as much as He will ever love us, and that’s crazy- that means His love is still as strong as it was on the cross.

As for TM, for me, it increased my love for G-d, not the other way around. With better understanding of even one small facet of His character and His abilities, love abounds. But there’s no way in JUNK you’ll find me running 100 miles. That’s stupid-hard.

Ex-intern, you got it.

1security1 – one of the most surprising things I ever learned is that God loves me AS I AM, not as I should be. Crazy!!

Hi guys!
My sister is home from hospital now and everything is fine. It really was a miracle – she walked away with just a few bruises and that’s about it. She was with some friends and their mom walking down the street to school when a guy passed out at the wheel of the car and left the road plowing into the back of the group – 5 kids, 1 parent and 2 dogs. Nobody was injured beyond bruising, and one of the dogs has a broken leg but is otherwise fine.
I really appreciate your prayers! Thank God because it should have been so much worse!

Josh – I couldn’t agree more. I felt the same way when I left, more inclined to serve God then myself.

RA – Very profound. I wish more people could understand this very simple concept.

I just spoke with a young lady who went on a one year mission trip (not with TM)to the south pacific. She told me that She went because she thought she would grow in her faith more and that she would make God happy with her…instead she had a miserable year, felt useless in the field, and returned home feeling more unloved then she started.
She is much better now and understands that God’s fondness of her cannot be changed regardless of her “service” to Him. But, she could’ve avoided much pain and hardships if this simple concept was taught to her years ago

Building a positive-God ministry by bashing and causing division will not prosper.

Bill, what? Proofread before you write. That sentence doesn’t make any sense.

You know, I’m pretty sure Jesus spoke out against and caused division in some other BULLSHIT ‘fake God’ ministries, too. They were called the Pharisees. Read your Bible, save a soul.

Thank you Bill the Pharisee for reminding us of why we do what we do.

Cesna, are you saying that Bill is like Jesus because he is rocking the boat here?

Okay, if anybody is looking for a way to comment pro-TM without getting theirs deleted, you could try looking at some of Josh’s posts, for an example.

Or you could read the comment policy, I guess. But examples usually work pretty well too.

Yep, I said it. And what. Jesus rocked the boat, but Bill’s saying ‘lol THIS. CAN. NOT. STAND!!!’

As if TM is above doing anything wrong or needing accountability. Grow up.

Ouch, Cesna. Let’s refrain from name calling. That is really not helpful. I know you are smart and witty enough to make your points without that.

Typically I stay away from it (not saying name calling is right), and I’ve had a really rough week, lol. I may be a bit rough around the edges for several days.

Does TM have all of our emails? Are they spying on us? If they are, how can I tell what they are driving? That is the thing that scared me the most about HA: all of the spies and the hidden cameras and microphones.
