We have over 300 guests for Preview Weekend. The next generation of interns are coming to change the world in spite of criticism.

Recovering Alumnisays:April 24, 2010 at 2:42 PMReply

Huh…I thought it was Jesus that changed the world, not interns…

Anonymoussays:April 24, 2010 at 2:49 PMReply

Yes…and we are His body.

Anonymoussays:April 24, 2010 at 3:02 PMReply

Ummmm….last I checked, all believers were a part of His Body, not just TM and their interns of world changers.

Anonymoussays:April 24, 2010 at 3:04 PMReply

God is also healing those who have been hurt by TM’s abusive ways….too bad TM is against that.

Anonymoussays:April 24, 2010 at 3:04 PMReply

Never said that they weren’t…very defensive response.

Anonymoussays:April 24, 2010 at 3:06 PMReply

God is also healing those who play the victim-card. Just because a tree fell on my car doesn’t mean it is God’s fault…wait didn’t He create the tree. Hmmm.

Anonymoussays:April 24, 2010 at 3:07 PMReply

Very minimizing comment, in spite of you ignoring valid criticism…but hey, have a great weekend.

RA: Stop causing division in the Body and let Jesus the Head take care of His business.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” – Matthew 7:3-5

Anonymoussays:April 24, 2010 at 3:30 PMReply

Charis-

So you think RA is a Hypocrite?

kristensays:April 24, 2010 at 4:02 PMReply

wow…. i am confused… who is playing the “victim card” here? this blog has been a healthy resource and outlet for myself and others who have been hurt by TM in some way… i don’t believe any of us are playing the “victim card”. i take great offense to that, but that’s not totally related to this post.

and, Charis – why do you say that RA is causing division? just curious…

Recovering Alumnisays:April 24, 2010 at 4:32 PMReply

Original Anon – Even Jesus said He couldn’t do anything without the Father. God plans the work, initiates it, gives us the ability to do it and completes it. There is nothing we can take credit for. When we start talking about what we are doing and how we are changing the world, we are veering into self-righteousness. I’m not saying that is what you, personally, meant. But the environment at TM is saturated with self-righteousness.

Charis – Abuse is not a speck of sawdust. Jesus was very much against the spiritual abuse that went on in His day via the Pharisees.

Anon – The victim card doesn’t make sense to me and seems very disrespectful. This is your first and final warning: read the comment policy.

GOD RA SERIOUSLY STOP TRYING TO BRING A PLACE OF HEALING TO PEOPLE WHO WENT THROUGH A PERFECT MINISTRY

IT’S SO AMAZING IN EVERY WAY AND YES IT’S HARD AND PEOPLE THERE MAKE MISTAKES BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN IT’S NOT PERFECT

GOD SERIOUSLY RA STOP BRINGING DIVISION TO THE BODY OF RON LUCE– I MEAN CHRIST

I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS.

Anonsays:April 24, 2010 at 9:16 PMReply

No one likes trolls. ^_^ Nunquam, you rock.

Eric Cockhillsays:April 24, 2010 at 9:43 PMReply

I think its absolutely perfect that people who want to research the Honor Academy have a site like this to read. It gives the full picture. The little marketing videos and the cool brochures definitely give a great image of the HA – but its incomplete. If we can save one person from becoming just another cult survivor – that’s great.

Also peeps – I’m thinking of making a documentary about cult survivors – if you want to get your story on video – let me know.

Shannon Kishsays:April 24, 2010 at 9:54 PMReply

I am continually amazed that CHRISTIANS who say they love Jesus can ignore the hurts of others (believers and non-believers) and then turn around and BLAME them for their hurt.

Christians sure do eat their own. Glad I got out of Christianity before I was eaten alive!

Nunquam Honorablussays:April 24, 2010 at 10:03 PMReply

Eric- THAT’S a project I could get behind! (: Sounds great; I’m totally interested!

Anonymoussays:April 24, 2010 at 11:14 PMReply

I think its funny that you give anon a first and final warning…how will you tell if he/she does it again when they are anon?

lol

Recovering Alumnisays:April 24, 2010 at 11:23 PMReply

I won’t know unless they reply to this conversation. But at least they can’t say they were never warned. 🙂

sgsuperman105says:April 24, 2010 at 11:31 PMReply

Eric-dispite the fact that I was only drawn in for 2 months, I will gladly hop on board your project.

Carrie Saumsays:April 25, 2010 at 12:21 AMReply

eric, i will be happy to be a part of you cultumentary. 🙂

Anonymoussays:April 25, 2010 at 1:23 AMReply

There’s also a little thing called IP address tracking.

Heathersays:April 25, 2010 at 3:15 AMReply

Eric, I would consider it.

Heathersays:April 25, 2010 at 3:22 AMReply

Maybe I am being hypersensitive but it deeply offends me when someone wants to try and tell me that the pain and confusion that have been a part of my life and have impacted every part of my life for the past 5 years is a small issue and that it shouldn’t be voiced. It isn’t just like I didn’t enjoy my experience, it has impacted how I view God and how I handle my relationships with others. Maybe I should take up boxing classed if I am continue to read the blog…

Eric P.says:April 25, 2010 at 9:57 AMReply

Abuse is a log. Divisiveness is a speck. Just saying.

@Eric Cockhill, will you be needing a film score composer for your documentary? Check my website.

Eric P.says:April 25, 2010 at 10:05 AMReply

Abuse is a log. Divisiveness is a speck. Pointing out abuse is a medicated eyedrop.

Anyway, we’re supposed to separate ourselves from “the unclean thing.” Abuse in Jesus’ name is a unclean thing, so causing division from it is a good work– I daresay, world-changing.

@Eric Cockhill, will you be needing a film score composer for your documentary? Check my website.

Eric P.says:April 25, 2010 at 10:07 AMReply

[Sorry for the double post; I didn’t see the first one had gone through.]

Candorsays:April 25, 2010 at 12:02 PMReply

Eric – name the time and place. The cultumentary (thanks carrie) is a go.

Anonymoussays:May 2, 2010 at 6:37 PMReply

to Eric, I like what you said about sparing at least one person from going through what you guys went through. I am currently enrolled in the Honor Academy to attend the August 2010 class. Up until about 5 days ago, i was pumped to attend this school. Even my father, who is very stubborn and hard to persuade, was behind me on it. When a member of my church found this site and showed it to my family, it made me physically sick. I am not not attending HA anymore, and my mother is convinced it was a gift from God that he saved me from so much heartache and pain there. thank you guys for being honest with your posts- im not sure what might have happened to me when I attended

Recovering Alumnisays:May 2, 2010 at 11:36 PMReply

Anonymous – So glad to hear the site has been helpful for you. That really makes it worth all the work I’ve put into it. Thanks for keeping an open mind on the subject and I know God will lead you into whatever he has for you next.

Shannon Kishsays:May 3, 2010 at 8:25 AMReply

Wow Anon, I am sure that was a very hard decision to make. I hope that you will be blessed because of your decision.

My soon to be wife went through the HA 2 years, the 2nd year she was a core advisor. Somehow she thinks it is really stellar…I disagree. There was no positive way for her to get back into society after that. All she did was worry what she was doing wrong and the negative things in her life. It is really pathetic and sad. And after it all she thinks it was a great experience. What did they do?? Fool her into thinking it was all for getting closer to Mcdonald’s!! It seems they think God wants us God??…I can get closer to God in a small town to be perfect…what is this Pharisee Land?? If you want to do great things for God go help in missions of starving nations instead of rolling down a hill till you puke to prove that God can get you through anything…it is purely sad

Eric P.says:July 17, 2010 at 9:39 AMReply

@dboy23– I feel your frustration. However, I’d advise you that what you need to do at this juncture show your wife some more compassion to help her come to terms with the abuse she experienced. A website that deals with spiritual abuse such as Provender or Under Much Grace will give you some good resources for understanding how the deception & abuse operates. You might want to send some time studying the Bible together on these topics (maybe Romans 8 or Ezekiel 34 or something). Above all, pray for her and show her by your actions what God’s love is really like!

Hope you don’t mind my unsolicited advice! Peace.

My post came through with a lot of sentence errors weird….I mean to say.
